Each hunt is limited to four hunters to insure continuing trophy class game populations and give you the focused attention that you deserve. We specialize in 2-on-1 archery Elk hunts, to give you the best possible chance at a trophy.

Black Bear color phases are varied, including black, chocolate, cinnamon and blond with average length between six and seven feet. We offer both a spring season and one in the fall, which coincides with Elk and Deer.
Hunting permits are controlled for Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goats, which are plentiful, and often of record proportions. We have experienced guides who will plan a customized hunt for you.

Wilderness Awareness Training
Pineland Outfitters plans to offer Wilderness Awareness Training as an outdoor activity. It is thrilling and fun to be outdoors pursuing various Wilderness adventures. It is the responsibility of each individual to be prepared, however, and to have the proper clothing, equipment and knowledge to make each experience pleasurable and safe. Our outdoor awareness training will be educational, and will not be intended as a substitute for specific survival training or courses. It will be chock full of practical information, demonstrations and hands on experience and will likely include, but not be limited to:
- Preparedness — a key Scouting mantra
- Natural Shelter Construction
- Identification of noxious weeds and plants
- Water purification

- How to make fire
- Intimate and intricate relationships between Mankind and the Land (Aldo Leopold’s Sand County Almanac)
- Natural Ecosystems — their importance
- Archery
- Firearms Safety
- Tracking Skills — Identification and significance of animal tracks and sign
- Plant and tree identification
- Birding
- Wildlife viewing and photography
- Educational Literature —
“Essential Wilderness Skills for Beginners”
, by Erik C. Falk — learn basic survival skills and much more - Basic accident and injury avoidance
- Weather — recognition of changing conditions
- Navigation
- Other basic and common sense concepts
Our guides have over 50 years of combined backcountry experience. Jenni Blake and Jeff Halligan each have First Responder designations; and Dickie Fogal teaches at camps, schools, outings and seminars.
Pineland Outfitters desires to take an educational and entertaining approach to presenting the interdependence of nature, wildlife, our ecosystems and human beings. We are committed to substance rather than the superficial; discerning, probing and teaching an authentic message in an entertaining way by means of an authentic medium.
What is being described is an opportunity to utilize the Idaho Backcountry — “an authentic medium”
— in order to present nature and outdoor skills to a public segment that desires creative outdoor programming— “the authentic message.”
We will explore and creatively test the programming most desired rather than say that we know what “they” want. Surprises and disappointments that accompany most creative plans and new ventures will be anticipated.
No one can predict the future, but we can and must accept the challenge of an opportunity with the educational potential of developing a greater public awareness of the need for a deeper commitment to truth and understanding of mankind and nature’s interdependence. No commitment, no involvement! We can make a difference if we try.
